Anthony "Tony" Cerino Jr. (68-69/SK2)
  
    Tony Cerino passed away on 16 February 2023 at the age of 75. He served aboard the Hugh Purvis in 1968 and 69 and was a Storekeeper 2nd. We last saw Tony and wife Rebecca, in Savannah and Hartford.
    Tony was a good and kind man who enjoyed life. While he suffered with pancreatic cancer for a number of years, he maintained a good outlook on life. We will miss you, Tony!

Donald J. "Don" Belanger (54-58/RD2)

    Don Belanger served aboard the Hugh Purvis from 1955 to 1958 as a RD2.  Don passed away on January 30, 2023 at the age of 89. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1972 after 22 years. He lived in Virginia Beach, VA.
    Don was an often attendee of our HPRA reuniions, last seen in Harrisburg in 2017. He was a good man to sit with and swap sea stories. We shall miss him.

William G. Collier  (50-52/EN3)

    William "Gene" Collier served aboard the Hugh Purvis from 1950-52 as an EN3. Gene passed away in Rome GA. August 19, 2019 at the age of 87 following a long illness. He is survived by his  wife of 64 years, Jane Chalker Collier.

    Robert served aboard in 1952 and 53 as a CS3. He lived in Virden, IL, passing away on 10/17/2022 at the age of 93.

                      Lawrence J. Kettenger (45-46/SSML2)

    Larry Kettenger, a long time member of the HPRA passed away on 8 January 2023, at the age of 97.
    Larry was a "Plank" member of the USS Hugh Purvis, He was always enjoyed his many reunions with us, attending his most recent ones with two of his sons. We last saw Larry in 2018 in Savannah. We will miss you, Larry.

Tom Demarest (70-72/STG1)

   Tom Demarest served aboard the Hugh Purvis from 1968 to 1972 as an STG1 and Leading Petty Officer for sonar during that period. Tom retired from the navy after 20 years. Tom passed away 11 September 2022 at the age of 76.

Theresa Eubanks (Charles 50-54)

    Terry was a long time Honorary member of the HPRA. Her husband Charles, served aboard from 1950 to 1954.
    Terry passed away on 19 October 2022 in Haverhill MA at the age of 88.
    Terry started attending our reunions with Charles early on, then attending most of them after Charles' passing. She missed Charleston 2022 due to ill health, but was looking forward to being with us in 2023 Norfolk. We missed her a lot, we will miss her in the future. Rest in peace Terry.

    Andrew Gall Served aboard the Hugh Purvis from 1944 to 1946 as an EM3. "Andy" passed away 10 March 2022 at home in Easton, PA. of natural causes at the age of 97.

    Don Bendis  served aboard the Hugh Purvis from 1954 to 1957 as an EM2. Don passed away in Plainfield, IL 16 June 2022 at the age of 86. Don is listed as a Korean War Veteran.
